Working his way to the top: Wesley purchased his first home to renovate in 2002 while working for an architect’s firm, working after hours and before work in the mornings. Halfway through the build he started a partnership with Ingo Roolf and upon the successful sale of the renovated home, Northglobal Group (NGG) was officially formed.
NGG specialised in luxurious home builds and designs, and between 2002 and 2003 Bench-Cappon and Roolf created another two luxurious homes. In 2004 NGG did their first sectional title development comprising of luxurious beachfront apartments, which was completed in 2006.
In 2007/ 2008 Wesley was involved in 76 sectional title units in Sheffield, and in 2010 NGG started work on the development of Sheffield Manor - a 321 unit sectional title estate with a number of exciting amenities. The development offers an incredible amount of facilities when compared to its competition countrywide and broke ground in 2010 when it turned over the highest sales for a development of its kind, for two years running. The development is currently in its final phase, building and selling its last 80 units.
In the same year that plans for Sheffield Manor were progressing (2009), NGG also developed and started operating a luxurious beach hotel with restaurant and spa, called Canelands Beach Club in Salt Rock. In addition to the hotel, still currently under their ownership, they rent out customised industrial office facilities nationwide.
In December 2012 NGG will be launching their latest project, which comprises of retail, office, commercial, medical and residential space all on the same estate; which will also be a socially responsive development.
From the horse’s mouth: According to Wesley, “I used property as a tool to generate wealth quickly after being a very below par student at school and coming from a modest upbringing. I believe that with a dream, determination and a passion in your chosen field, anything is possible. I’d like young people to use the Northglobals Projects and my success story as motivation to create their own financial wealth in property. The market that our projects have been geared towards are all for residents around my age group. We offer them affordable ways to own property, in order to break into the market and create their own wealth. I believe this is one of the main contributing factors for Sheffield Manor being such an outright success and receiving the attention it has within the property industry.”
