Jurie Smith, the CEO of PM Academy has just announced that, PM Academy is expanding its offering of courses, in line with its mission, to empower its clients through project management knowledge. According to Smith, the clients of PM Academy now have access to a more comprehensive compendium of courses designed to amplify their individual work experience and theory, all the while, catering to their level of involvement in Project Management. Spurred on by the ideal of empowering people, PM Academy has three more course offerings to select from. These are Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®), Practical Project Management and Agile Project Management.

Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®)
According to Smith, “there are few programme management qualifications available in the world. As such, the PM Academy MSP® is a programme management curriculum which provides the delegate with sufficient theoretical and experiential knowledge of the processes involved in Programme Management, permitting the delegate to become an efficient Programme Manager.” The course follows the syllabus set by the APMG in the UK. The programme is taken in two steps, that is, Foundation level and Practioner. It scrutinises topics such as Governance Themes, Organisation, Blueprint Design and Delivery, Planning and Control, the Business Case, Quality Management, and also, Risk Management and Issue Resolution.

Practical Project Management
The Practical Project Management course caters to the development of individuals who are already familiar and work in the project management environment. According to Smith, the course complements the delegates experience by educating delegates and practically applying the advanced principles, methods and techniques of project management. Students practically complete a project from initiation, planning, controlling and conclusion.  The syllabus relates matters such as History of Project Management, Project Management Principles, The Project Management Body of Knowledge, Project Life Cycle, Stakeholder Management, Procurement Management, Project selection, Scope Management, Work Breakdown Structure, Risk Management, Time Management, Cost Management, Earned Value, Project Communications, Project Leadership, Team Management, and Quality Management.

Agile Project Management
Smith explains, “there are various forms of Agile and the new PM Academy Agile course offers students both a method and international certification through the APMG in the United Kingdom. The Agile Project Management qualification is aimed at individuals and organisations working in environment that incrementally delivers products to business throughout the project life cycle.”Based on the proven fundamentals within Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) Atern, it imparts the ability to deliver Agile Projects requiring firm standards and visibility while enabling the fast pace and change  provided by Agile. The course is also delivered in two steps, namely, The Foundation and Practitioner stages. The syllabus takes on subjects such as, Atern Principles, The Lifecycle, Roles and responsibilities, Iterative Development, Configuring the Lifecycle for Evolution, Delivering Quality, Project Management, Risk Management, and Configuration Management.
