Freight Intra-Africa

A feature of particular interest for project managers will be available at the Freight Intra-Africa (FIA) South Conference to be held at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 27 to 28 July 2011.

FIA is the first in a series of regional conferences across the continent to spotlight private-sector trade and investment, the harmonisation and streamlining of cross-border facilities and co-operation, transport and logistics.

This first conference will focus on the Southern African Development Community and neighbouring countries.

Among the sectors and topics of interest for project managers will be the availability of an extensive list of multi-sector projects in various African countries, including projects where the feasibility studies have already been completed.

The format of the event provides many opportunities for project managers to network and meet delegates representing a wide range of economic activity. The format involves two main events alongside each other –the FIA South Conference and the Opportunity Africa Convention – in tandem with the Africa Trade and Investment Expo.

The Opportunity Africa Convention, focused largely on the private sector, will highlight the continent’s business opportunities and discuss the best ways to capitalise on them.

Key industries that will be at the convention include agriculture, construction and development, energy, information technology, oil and gas, telecommunications, tourism, transport, water and sanitation.

The conference, convention and expo are organised and managed by the Events Division of Cape Media Corporation.

I look forward to meeting you there.
