Incledon targets SA valve market

A range of sophisticated industrial valves is being exclusively introduced to the South African petrochemical and industrial markets by Incledon.

Expert fluid conveyance solutions provider, Incledon, has increased its product portfolio and market offering after introducing a range of heavy-duty carbon-steel valves to the South African market in November.

Incledon has obtained exclusive local distribution rights to the highly-specialised range of Teji cast-steel valves, which are being aimed at the petrochemical and industrial industries. Incledon product manager for valves, Craig Thomson, points out that Incledon identified a gap in this niche market for Teji valves earlier in the year.

“Incledon has an extensive amount of experience in distributing and supplying pipe, fittings, couplings, flanges, valves, pumps and irrigation; however, this is the company’s first full range of industrial valves, and we are confident that they will make Incledon a strong contender  in the South African petrochemical and industrial markets in the future,” he explains.

Thomson points out that the Teji range of carbon-steel and stainless steel valves, manufactured in China, are all ISO 9001 and CE certified. “China often has a reputation of manufacturing poor-quality products; however, Teji has proven itself to be of the highest-quality. With more than 30 years as an industry-leader in China, the company has won international acclaim in the USA and various European markets, and I believe that it will serve as a highly-reliable product in the South African market too,” he continues.

Incledon’s Teji valve product offering currently includes ball valves, ranging from 25 mm to 150 mm in size, as well as strainers and check valves, ranging from 50 mm to 150 mm. What’s more, all Teji valves have a class 150 pressure-rating, enabling the product to operate at 19-bar working pressure at ambient temperature.

Thomson notes that a number of large petrochemical plants worldwide have been making use of Teji valves for a number of years, and he believes that that this trend will follow suite in South Africa. “Having only recently secured exclusive distribution rights to the product, Incledon’s local stockholding of Teji will be dramatically-increased; however, I believe that 2011 is the year for Incledon to gain significant market share with this superior product offering.”

In addition to the launch of the Teji range, Thomson points out that Incledon has also seen a dramatic increase in the demand for its range of Tekflo brass valves and quick-flow consumable valves. “These valves were improved in design, quality, range and performance, which has undoubtedly proven that price is not everything in the South African environment, and that the local market still demands quality, reliability, after sales service and backup.”

“Tekflo was introduced in South Africa at the end of 2009, and has experienced significant success over the past year. This has been particularly-prevalent among the brass ball valve market segment, which are used in a number of applications including; irrigation, domestic, air-conditioning, industry, civils and general water reticulation,” explains Thomson.

Incledon, together with the registered Tekflo brand, have been able to market the brand to new heights, by highlighting quality as the major driving force behind the product name.  “All Tekflo products are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality measurement and approval standards. To ensure unrivalled quality, representatives from Incledon visit the Tekflo factory twice a year to carry stringent quality checks, and to follow up on new advances in technology.”

Thomson adds that this approach has seen Incledon’s sales of Tekflo brass ball valves increase by 110% over the past year. Looking to 2011, he points out that Incledon will be focusing on achieving similar success in the launching and sales of the the Tekflo range of stainless steel, ductile iron and cast iron valves on the drivers of the Tekflo value system of  quality, performance and value.

“A quality-focused drive, together with dedicated sales and technical services, as well as national stockholding throughout our 16 operations and stocking engineering merchants, has seen the Tekflo valve range sold throughout South Africa and bordering countries. We are looking to expand on our experiences and increase our range of Tekflo valves in 2011 by providing a comprehensive valve offering to suit the various market segments that Incledon serves,” he concludes.
